The plan below is just a draft and if we get a lovely sunny day we will be sure to use the roof to have a go at landscape painting again.
Bring your own materials if you want for tutoring days. Materials will be provided for all set workshops listed below. These will be of a basic quality, good enough to practice the techniques shown, but you are more than welcome to use your own favourite materials if you’d like.
April 18 – Induction day for new members. Angus will introduce new members to all the wonderful resources we have as a group. A chance to do your own thing or as a wee refresher to using the projector, printing press, block printing kit and an overview of artists materials available to members.
April 25- Tutoring with airbrushing equipment available if you would like to use it.
May 2 – Introduction to portraiture. We will look at sketching techniques to help improve our portraiture drawing. Hopefully we’ll end the evening with four or five drawings and much more confidence! Bring paper and pencils.
May 9 -Tutoring with printing equipment available if you would like to use it.
May 16 – Still life drawing. Using the stash of objects from the art department, we’ll look at some messy drawing techniques.
May 23 – An introduction to oils
May 30 – Pen and ink. Using Indian ink and a pen with a nib to do some rich expressive(maybe splattery) drawings
June 6 – Paper casting. using Plasticine, pva and toilet paper to make surprisingly accurate reproductions of 3d objects. This technique can be used to add wonderful textures to your mixed media paintings.

June 20- Big group painting. My favourite. We’ll break out a big roll of paper and make a beautiful mess! Also our groups AGM
June 27 – Pie and chips at the Craig Bar, Grantown, to celebrate the end of another successful year!
