Summer Term

Summer 2019

Working towards our “People and places” exhibition

The plan below is just a draft and if we get a lovely sunny day we will be sure to use the roof to have a go at landscape painting again.

Bring your own materials if you want for tutoring days. Materials will be provided for all set workshops listed below. These will be of a basic quality, good enough to practice the techniques shown, but you are more than welcome to use your own favourite materials if you’d like.

Art group on the roof

April 25- Big group painting. My favourite. We’ll break out a big roll of paper and make a beautiful mess!

May 1 -Mixed media landscapes, bring any pictures you’re not happy with, scrappy stuff, old newspaper, stuff to collage and we’ll bring a new lease of life to them. Also, we’ll have a committee meeting.

May 8 -Mixed media landscapes (part 2), Paper casting. using plasticine, pva and toilet paper to make surprisingly accurate reproductions of 3d objects. This technique can be used to add wonderful textures to your mixed media paintings. Bring grass, leaves, flower buds twigs etc. to press into plasticine. Ideally things that won’t fall into lots of wee bits!

May 15 – Paper casting. using plasticine, pva and toilet paper to make surprisingly accurate reproductions of 3d objects. This technique can be used to add wonderful textures to your mixed media paintings.

May 22 – Tutoring & First draft of invites, poster for exhibition and images for online.

May 29 – Bracelets….. Bring along some of your colourful paintings and drawings to be scanned and made into wee bracelets to sell at the exhibition, or to keep for yourself.

June 5 – All your bracelets have been printed and are ready to go. Tutoring, & approving finished designs for posters etc. before going to print.

June 12 – Last chance to have your work photographed for cards. Bring in pictures (unframed) that you’d like to share on the website or would like to use to promote the exhibition.

June 19-  Visiting tutor, Katie will come through to teach you something new and then AGM from 8pm

June 26 – Visiting tutor.

July 3 – Pie and chips at the Craig Bar, Grantown, to celebrate the end of another successful year!
